Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday said his Government was continuing talks with Azerbaijan and Armenia on border delimitation and demarcation, expressing hope that substantial progress would be achieved.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Kobakhidze said both sides in the Georgia-Azerbaijan and Georgia-Armenia processes agree that work on resolving border issues must continue actively.

The Prime Minister was asked about a letter published by former Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili concerning the David Gareji Monastery complex, which was located near the Georgia-Azerbaijan border.

“It seems he resolved the issue and I missed something”, Kobakhidze remarked.

“Of course, everyone is doing everything possible to resolve such important issues. We are constantly talking with our friends, both our Azerbaijani friends and our Armenian friends, about border delimitation and demarcation. This is a very important issue”, he emphasised.

Kobakhidze also noted that In both cases, between Georgia and Azerbaijan and between Georgia and Armenia, the parties agree that this process must continue actively.

“We hope to achieve substantial progress in this regard, and active work is ongoing. We hope to accomplish what he was unable to resolve”, Kobakhidze said.
